Services - How this works!

From scratch: You simply have an idea about what you want. Perhaps you would like to have a warm, wool hat lined with cables. Or you need knitted cupcakes for your daughter’s birthday party favors. Or your ferret is in desperate need of a sweater. Whatever it is, we can discuss your idea and options on how to have it made. Simply send me an email with a basic description, and I will get back to you with specific questions, suggestions and your options. Once we agree on materials, patterns, sizing and pricing, I’ll request a deposit and get started!

Existing pattern: You may come to me with an already existing pattern for a piece for me to create. However, some patterns are copyrighted and require permission from the copyright holder. I will do my best to obtain permission. In cases where this is not possible, I will direct you to patterns that are available for production or we can come up with an original pattern that fits your interests.

Reproduction: You may come to me with an existing item that you wish to reproduce - perhaps you have a favorite scarf that you would like made in a different color or fiber, or perhaps you have come across an image of an item. Though some pieces are machine-made, I will do my best to give you an accurate description of how well it can be replicated.

Because all items are custom-made I work closely with you throughout the process. This may be via email or by phone conversation.  If you live in the New York City area,  we might meet to discuss in person.

 

Pricing

Rates are based on hourly pay, however, depending on the scope of the project, I will often discount the rate. Please refer to the chart for pricing estimates. Please note - this includes time to create a pattern, if needed, and knitting and seaming time. Consults on projects are free of charge.

1- 5 Hours - $9.00 /hour

6-10 Hours - $8.50 /hour

11-15 hours - $8/hour

16-20 hours $7.50/hour

21-30 hours $7/hour

30+ hours $6.50/hour

Additional Services

Private Knitting Lessons: If you live in the New York City area, I am available for one-on-one private knitting lessons. Rate: $30/hr. 50% non-refundable deposit required through PayPal.
